This class was one
of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. The class opened the door to the many ways technology can be used to help
children experience different methods of learning. I increased my knowledge in the excel, publisher, and powerpoint programs.
Some of the projects I completed using these programs were a brochure, budget, classroom map, class schedule and an
amazing powerpoint on Chameleons.
There were 30 different
requirements to creating this powerpoint. Some of the new skills that I learned were:
* creating sound to enhance the presentation
* using the sound recorder to edit or record my voice
* using animated and non-animated clipart
* modify Word Art
* developed individual slides without the use of Design
Templates, Color Schemes, or Animation Schemes.
The powerpoint includes
slides that allow students to evaluate their knowledge at the end of the presentation. By clicking on answer A,B, or
C the student is directed to the slide with my audio voice telling them to “try again” or congratulating them
on a “great job”. After answering the question correctly they advance to the next question. Creating
educational Powerpoints like this would make a wonderful center for student learning in many subject areas.
